JEANNETTE ALTHERR &
BANNER, CARDS AND FOLDER, 2021
“Think out of the box. We don’t need more objects but a different narrative.”
The box from Barcelona contained a mix-set: expressed in a product-related manner, a silk banner with a colored screen-printed motif measuring 60 x 85 cm, a folding poster and 16 square text cards appeared.
In fact, we received a treasure chest of inspiration, thoughts and questions on what could – or should – be driving designers today. For example, what a fine, softly flowing cloth has to do with a crisp green pea pod, with our earth, our habits and ideas of beauty.
Jeannette Altherr (Barcelona/Spain) is a product designer and creative director. Decades ago, she co-founded a studio that has long been internationally renowned and now operates as the designer collective Lievore + Altherr Désile Park. Jeannette Altherr designs furniture, spatial concepts, temporary buildings; and she is equally concerned with thinking about and communicating with design.
Laura Santarelli (Barcelona/Spain) is a graphic designer and creative director. After graduating in visual communication at the Bauhaus University Weimar, she worked as an image editor and communication designer. Her area of interest is the development of visual codes, brands and identities based on cultural processes – often as a movement into the unknown.
Dear Jeannette, longing way back into the past, we always had wonderful inspiring discussions. Inspiration and senseful exchange are more needed then ever and the project ‘Living in a Box’ seems a great platform to continue our discourse. We are really happy to have you on board.
Yours Catharina & Steffen
